Let's Play Outside Together

Welcome to OKNJ! I'm Lauren Kelin. 

Playing is learning. And nature is the best classroom there is! Inspired by the Tinkergarten curriculum and philosophy. Classes, unless otherwise noted, are caregiver-and-me style.

Current Class Offerings

Spring 2024 classes meet weekly on Sundays, April 14 - June 9, from 9:30 - 10:30 am. in the beautiful and newly-restored Teaneck Creek Outdoor Classroom and focus on Creativity. Classes are appropriate for children, ages 1.5 - 8 years old. Click here to sign up!


Summer 2024 classes will meet weekly on Mondays, June 24 - August 12 or Wednesdays, June 26 - August 14, from 10:00 - 11:15 am, same place as above. Click here to sign up!

Lauren received her Tinkergarten training in 2018 and has since led hundreds of families in joyful outdoor exploration. Now a momma of five and full-time teacher, Lauren is thrilled to continue sharing her passion for the natural world with her OKNJ families. See you outside!

    Classes are designed with children ages 1.5 - 8 in mind. Children outside that window may also enjoy the program and are welcome to attend.

    Children must attend with a caregiver and there are special sibling rates, as well. More than one caregiver can attend, but only one is required.

    Classes are held at Teaneck Creek. More details provided to registrants.

    Summer classes will meet weekly on Thursdays, from 9:30 - 11 am (6/29 - 8/17).

    While we encourage families to join for the season, as it helps to build consistency within the classroom community, we understand the need to be flexible. We offer several options and price-points for families to join OKNJ. A class pass can be purchased for any 3 classes while a season is 8 classes. (Packages range from $84 for a class pass to $200 for a season.)
